Fitness Assessment Results – May
A big congratulations to all those who took part in the recent Fitness Assessment held in our three locations: Australian Technology Park in Redfern, Cook & Phillip Park in CBD and Harmony Park in Surry Hills. Everybody did a great job and should continue to strive for a fitter and stronger life. We’re equally delighted to highlight those who made exceptional performance and improvements.

The Fitness Assessment is an integral part of your membership to She FITNESS and keeping track of your progress and improvement. If you’re new to fitness training, this is a great way to assess your fitness level so you can see how you will have improved over the course of your training. If you’re a regular member, always make sure to attend a session with Fitness Assessment so you can see the benefits of all your hard work.
All results have been calculated by your coaches and have been sent to all those who participated via email. We had a lot of new members who did well. Don’t forget to participate on our next Fitness Assessment so you can monitor real results! Our next Fitness Assessment will be in June starting on the 6th. Keep yourselves posted for detailed schedule.

I’ve been training with She FITNESS for over a year now and am hooked. For someone that hates the gym and who was a bit skeptical when I signed up, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I actually enjoyed it! The reason it works for me is that it’s group training with a great bunch of women (of all fitness levels) in an outdoor setting (which I much prefer to being cooped up in a gym) and you never get bored because there is so much variety in the workouts; from boxing to circuit training, running to core work, the hour goes really quickly. There is definitely a noticeable difference in my fitness level and I am slowly but surely getting more toned which was one of my main objectives, and this is from going just twice a week.
Member Spotlight: Kylie Alexander
A Human Resource staff for an IT consulting company, Kylie Alexander is ready to embrace a healthier lifestyle — and she’s thankful She FITNESS is there to support her.
The Lifestyle
Kylie loves outdoors. In fact, over the weekend she loves to swim or to hang out with friends. “If in Sydney, then brunch (best meal of the day!) and a swim in the ocean. I love going away with friends for weekends too.” She’s also into Sporting events (such as supporting the Roosters, Waratahs and Swans), live music, travel and photography.
Her favourite sport or outdoor activity is boxing. “Boxing is great. I’ve also started running more and recently completed the Sun Herald Sun Run (Dee Why to Manly 7kms). I’m definitely not a runner, but the sense of achievement from this race has me wanting more. Next on agenda are some 10kms runs where I hope I can improve on my time.”
The Change
Kylie have always loved being in the outdoor. But since she wanted to stay healthier, aside from “having a great big holiday (America for 3 weeks in May) and spend more time with my relatives (in Adelaide)” as part of her goals in 2011, she started training with She FITNESS. “I love that its outdoors! I’m not one to enjoy the gym, so this is perfect. Its also a great group of women that are encouraging and can have a laugh when feeling the pressure! The trainers are all quite different in their style / routine and the classes are never the same – so you don’t know what to expect each session.”
The result after 5 months since joining: “Besides losing a few inches & kgs I can certainly feel the difference in my general fitness. I’m also thinking more about what I eat and feeling much much better for it. As a result I’m gaining more self confidence.”

Member Spotlight: Catherine Bullivant Shares How Fitness Training for Women Can Improve Your Life
“I’ve always loved team sports and being active, but wasn’t very successful in a whole-body approach to my exercise. When I joined She FITNESS I thought it would be a good chance to push me out of my comfort zone and help me tone up, and if not it would be a bit of fun with my workmates at lunch.”
Quoting her back when she just started training with She FITNESS, journalist Catherine Bullivant would like to share her experience and inspire everyone on what she had achieved after a year since she joined the community and started fitness training for women.
The Lifestyle
I love geeky indoor things like writing and reading, but also very much an outdoors person. I play oztag, for fun and competitively at tournaments and love long walks with my hubby and dog. I love being outdoors with a group of lovely, like-minded girls and putting some fun into training! The compassionate and sincere trainers make you work hard, and reward you with lots of encouragement and positivity, and give you the results you’re after.
The Change
I’ve always loved team sports and being active, but wasn’t very successful in a whole-body approach to my exercise. When I joined She FITNESS I thought it would be a good chance to push me out of my comfort zone and help me tone up, and if not it would be a bit of fun with my workmates at lunch.
Nine months later and I have the arm definition and strength I dreamed of and the abs I thought I would never see again! The training is so far from a boot camp – it’s supportive and encouraging and somehow manages to be fun. It’s a great feeling finishing a session, and even better when people notice the results…plus who doesn’t love wearing hot pink?
Since starting with She FITNESS I have shed the layer of “me” I got used to carrying around, and discovered muscles I forgot about. I feel stronger, happier, healthier and notice I am not puffed or exhausted as easily as I used to be. But the little improvements are just as important, and pushing myself that little bit extra each session has given me the most unexpected results…best of all I have been able to maintain a healthy weight without cutting out all the good stuff.
Catherine’s Tips
I have always loved being active, but this has changed the way I approach actual exercise – knowing it can be fun, enjoyable and incredibly rewarding.
Goals for 2011
To maintain the good work of 2010! …including leading a healthy lifestyle, spending quality time with family, friends and pets…and appreciating the good things in life!
Member Spotlight: Sarah Tuite
Sarah is one of our newest members and has been training at our Coogee location for the past two months. She has shown great commitment and consistency, and in that short period of time, she has made big improvements in her strength, stamina and general level of fitness. On top of this, she is now finding that her jeans are feeling looser and that her friends are commenting on the physical changes that they see from her She FITNESS training. She is definitely achieving her goal of wanting to live a healthy lifestyle and we look forward to helping her get fitter, faster, stronger and firmer over the upcoming months. Member Spotlight: Justine Williamson
Over the past year Justine has had noticeable results in her level of fitness mostly due to her great attitude and her willingness to work hard at every session.
Her combination of exercising with perfect form and technique, along with her attitude to give her absolute best and never give up, has helped her to make big improvements in her strength, stamina and fitness assessment times.
She is always up for a good talk about dogs or a laugh with the other members and she is a great She FITNESS ambassador! (more…)
Member Spotlight: Karan Monkhouse
As a Coach, there is no better feeling than to see one of your members progress and transform in front of you. It has been very rewarding to see how far Karan has come in the last 6 months since joining our team. She literally started as an absolute beginner at She FITNESS, with no aerobic capacity and very limited core or upper body strength. We initially scaled and modified the workouts to focus on the basics and teaching her how to move and exercise safely and effectively with correct technique. As each month has passed by, she gotten stronger, firmer and fitter as a result of her drive and focus and she is a great example of what determination and consistency can achieve when applied to our training sessions and good nutrition.
On top of losing 4kgs in weight, melting away centimetres around her waistline, and toning up her legs and arms; she now has the energy and fitness to no longer be out of breath when walking up stairs or completing her home renovation projects.
