“Since joining She FITNESS just over 3 months ago, I have truly caught the exercise bug. I had never particularly enjoyed training, but since joining the team, I have learned to love it and haven’t missed a session. I have lost both kilos and inches, and now have a much leaner profile, not to mention my fitness having improved hugely. I am now training for my first triathlon along with 2 half marathons… all feats I never thought I would even want to do, let alone feel I could achieve! It’s a great and friendly small group environment and the Coaches are incredibly supportive and encouraging, with a lot of personal attention – I couldn’t recommend a better group to train with, wherever you are starting from.”

“I hadn’t exercised for 10 years and kept making all the excuses in the world – too busy as a working mum, couldn’t afford a trainer, maybe next year. Then I realized that I wanted to stay on the planet for as long as possible to enjoy my daughter and to set a good example for her. I joined She Fitness on a trial basis with huge trepidation—would it be full of fit people who would judge me for being 40 kgs overweight and laugh at my lack of fitness? I expected to last a week. I’m so happy to admit my fears were totally unfounded. This is a great group of women and brilliant professional trainers who offer me so much support and encouragement; I have lasted three months so far and have lost 22 kgs since joining. I’m slowly but surely and safely getting fit and watching my body change shape – and loving it. My energy levels are increasing each week, my self-esteem is returning and best of all – my six year-old proudly thinks Mum is a superstar. She Fitness may well have saved my life!”
“After 2 weeks of SheFitness I have been extremely happy with the sessions, I am learning a lot and slowly each lesson am pushing myself more. This is the first exercise program I have ever stuck to and I wanted to say a big thank you to Richie for being such a great teacher. I am excited to see my fitness increase even more. “

I joined She FITNESS in May 2011 after getting engaged. At the time, I was a member of a gym, but I was finding it hard to find the motivation to attend consistently. I was looking for something with a bit more accountability, and something that would push me physically. I’ve always been pretty healthy with my diet but felt that I hadn’t found a form of exercise that I enjoyed and that fitted in with my lifestyle. I was tired of feeling lazy and sick of constantly making excuses not to exercise.
I can honestly say that first 400 metre warm up run was the furthest I’d ever run before in my life! I also happened to have my first session when the monthly fitness test was being held. While I found the test incredibly difficult, when the next month came around and I improved on my time considerably, I felt a huge sense of achievement.
To begin with, I trained twice a week. As my wedding got closer, I increased my training sessions, and saw a further improvement in my fitness as a result. I love training in the mornings, because then I get my evenings to myself without the guilt associated with skipping an exercise session!
What I love about SHE is that the workouts are different each time, so you don’t get bored. The trainers are really encouraging and approachable. I have also been really motivated by seeing my fitness improve – I can do push ups on my toes now! I’ve also really enjoyed meeting the other women who train and working out with women who have fitness goals that they’re striving to achieve. I like that SHE is a supportive environment in which to train, regardless of your fitness level.
In September of last year I ran the 9k Sydney bridge run. There is no way I would have had the confidence to train for a run like that if I hadn’t seen my fitness improve through my training at SHE. This year, I am aiming to complete the Hunter Valley Half Marathon. I also want to complete the Fitness Test in under 11 minutes. SHE has taught me that the sky is the limit, provided you’re willing to put in the hard work and train consistently.
I’m really proud of the hard work I’ve put in and the results that I’ve achieved over the last nine months – I couldn’t have done it without the support of SHE, and am looking forward to continuing my fitness journey with SHE in 2012!

I’ve been training with She FITNESS for over a year now and am hooked. For someone that hates the gym and who was a bit skeptical when I signed up, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I actually enjoyed it! The reason it works for me is that it’s group training with a great bunch of women (of all fitness levels) in an outdoor setting (which I much prefer to being cooped up in a gym) and you never get bored because there is so much variety in the workouts; from boxing to circuit training, running to core work, the hour goes really quickly. There is definitely a noticeable difference in my fitness level and I am slowly but surely getting more toned which was one of my main objectives, and this is from going just twice a week.
A Human Resource staff for an IT Consulting Company, Kylie Alexander is ready to embrace a healthier lifestyle — and she’s thankful She FITNESS is there to support her.
Kylie definitely loves outdoor. Every weekend, Kylie would love to spend them swimming. “If in Sydney, then brunch (best meal of the day!) and a swim in the ocean. I love going away with friends for weekends too.” She’s also into sporting events (such as supporting the Roosters, Waratahs and Swans), live music, travel and photography. In fact her favorite sport or outdoor activity is boxing. “Boxing is great. I’ve also started running more and recently completed the Sun Herald Sun Run (Dee Why to Manly 7kms). I’m definitely not a runner, but the sense of achievement from this race has me wanting more. Next on agenda are some 10kms runs where I hope I can improve on my time.”
The Big Change
As part of her goals in 2011, Kylie wanted to be healthier and take care of her health better. And because she’s not the type of person who would enjoy being in a gym, she decided to try out She FITNESS. “I love that its outdoors! I’m not one to enjoy the gym, so this is perfect. Its also a great group of women that are encouraging and can have a laugh when feeling the pressure! The trainers are all quite different in their style / routine and the classes are never the same – so you don’t know what to expect each session.”
For 5 months since she started, she really had seen great results. “Besides losing a few inches and kilograms I can certainly feel the difference in my general fitness. I’m also thinking more about what I eat and feeling much much better for it. As a result I’m gaining more self confidence.”
“Come along and enjoy the outdoors. You’ll never go back to the gym again!”

Kylie have always loved being in the outdoor. But since she wanted to stay healthier, aside from “having a great big holiday (America for 3 weeks in May) and spend more time with my relatives (in Adelaide)” as part of her goals in 2011, she started training with She FITNESS. “I love that its outdoors! “I’ve always loved team sports and being active, but wasn’t very successful in a whole-body approach to my exercise. When I joined She FITNESS I thought it would be a good chance to push me out of my comfort zone and help me tone up, and if not it would be a bit of fun with my workmates at lunch.”
Quoting her back when she just started training with She FITNESS, journalist Catherine Bullivant would like to share her experience and inspire everyone on what she had achieved after a year since she joined the community and started fitness training for women.
I love geeky indoor things like writing and reading, but also very much an outdoors person. I play oztag, for fun and competitively at tournaments and love long walks with my hubby and dog. I love being outdoors with a group of lovely, like-minded girls and putting some fun into training! The compassionate and sincere trainers make you work hard, and reward you with lots of encouragement and positivity, and give you the results you’re after.

Nine months later and I have the arm definition and strength I dreamed of and the abs I thought I would never see again! The training is so far from a boot camp – it’s supportive and encouraging and somehow manages to be fun. It’s a great feeling finishing a session, and even better when people notice the results…plus who doesn’t love wearing hot pink?
Since starting with She FITNESS I have shed the layer of “me” I got used to carrying around, and discovered muscles I forgot about. I feel stronger, happier, healthier and notice I am not puffed or exhausted as easily as I used to be. But the little improvements are just as important, and pushing myself that little bit extra each session has given me the most unexpected results…best of all I have been able to maintain a healthy weight without cutting out all the good stuff.
I have always loved being active, but this has changed the way I approach actual exercise – knowing it can be fun, enjoyable and incredibly rewarding.
Goals for 2011
To maintain the good work of 2010! …including leading a healthy lifestyle, spending quality time with family, friends and pets…and appreciating the good things in life!
