Blog - Erin Watson – She Fitness Redfern Boot Camp Member of the Month
Congratulations to Erin Watson, She Fitness Redfern Boot Camp Member Of the Month for January!
We are impressed by your dedication to training, your session attendance over the past month (and previous months as well!!) has been brilliant. You've been so committed to your health and fitness and setting yourself challenges such as the sun run and the half marathon are testament to your focus. I am looking forward to supporting you and helping you to achieve your goals and hopefully you will inspire others to take similar challenges.
During your sessions, you push hard no matter what the challenge and no matter how exhausted you are. You always have a smile on your face too which can be a tough task when you're training hard. I'm really stoked to train you and to have you as a valued member of the She Fitness community, especially at our Redfern Boot Camp (and hopefully soon to be at Glebe too!)!!
When did you join She FITNESS?
I joined in May 2013.
Why did you join She FITNESS?
I felt like I was in a bit of a rut and was keen to get my fitness back after a few years of being 'too busy'!
What were your goals? What did you want to achieve?
Fitness and weight loss. I used to run a lot but lost the fitness pretty quickly when I stopped. One of my goals was to work up to a half marathon which I completed last year. It almost killed me at the time though so I'm hoping to run it again more easily this year.
How did you feel when you started
My very first session was a fitness test. I was so sore the day after that I was worried I wasn't going to be able to keep up with the rest of the group.
What changes did you make to live a healthy lifestyle?
I started going to three sessions a week and made an effort to do something active every weekend as well.
How do you feel now?
I feel great! I have so much more energy on the days I train and it's definitely a good way to work out the stresses of the week.
How will you continue to support yourself and live a healthy lifestyle?
I've made some diet changes which I'll be trying to keep up and have a few more fun runs coming up to keep me motivated. I'm also trying new ways to stay active and just went to my first No Lights No Lycra event in Redfern. Heaps of fun but I can't remember the last time I sweated that much!
What are your new goals
My new goals are to keep consistent training up as part of my lifestyle and work up to running the Blackmores Half Marathon again later in the year and not feeling like collapsing at the end of it!
CONGRATULATIONS once again, Erin and keep up the awesome work!
